Building a house in 3 days

2025

Jorge and Kids

Jorge is a single dad with two teenagers. He works at a block factory and is currently living with friends since his wife left. He is very industrious; he and his son have attempted to build a temporary house with pallets. A permanent house will make a world of difference for this family.

Teodora and Melissa

Teodoro and Melisa with their two young children, ages 6 and 2. Teodoro is an Uber Eats driver, while Melisa stays home with the children. They are thrilled that their grandmother recently gifted them the title to their own plot of land; we are excited to begin construction for this young family.

The Olalde-Leon Family

The Olalde-Leon family moved to Ensenada, Mexico from Mexico City in 2018 after Benjamin lost his job. Their son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome after they arrived in Ensenada. They bought land for a home but have a hard time making enough money to build on it. Our volunteers donated time, labor, and materials to build them a safe, modest home.

The Martinez Family

Enrique is a handyman and does general construction. He has worked on previous Builders of Hope sites in the past pouring concrete, mudding and taping drywall, and running electrical line. He is honest and hard working, he just needed some extra help in life to get ahead.

We had a lifechanging experience building them a new home in April, 2023

Roberta and Jose Alfredo

Roberto is a single mom living who worked hard to acquire her own land. This fulfilled one of the bylaws of our governance that the owner of the home must own the land on which we will build a home.

“… There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.

“And … whosoever doeth this shall be found at the right hand of God, for he shall know the name by which he is called; for he shall be called by the name of Christ.” (Mosiah 5:7–9)
